12 March 2011 - Shirt and Cap Presentation

With the Ledgers only 3 weeks from setting off on their 6 weeks it was time to get together and present the shirts with the official cruise logo.  Here are some happy snaps of Andrew presenting the shirts.

Surprise CAPS

But Deb had a surprise for the crew - Caps.  Unbeknown to all, she had these sneakily done.  We are now going to be mistaken as crew with the roles as per below.

Gary:

Captain - responsible for the entire operation of the vessel – keep us happy Gary.

Roxanne:

Cruise Director - the cruise director is in charge of all on-board entertainment, creates, coordinates, and implements all the daily activities – organise us Roxanne. 

Andrew:

Bartender - responsible for serving alcoholic beverages to passengers in lounges and on decks - see Andrew for all your inquiries about drinks i.e. ice machine locations, etc….



Lisa:

Fitness Instructor - Instructors are required to take a variety of aerobic classes, supervise the gymnasium and also offer Personal Training to guests – please organise us to keep the kilo s off Lisa.

Craig:

Safety Officer - responsible for passenger and crew safety drills, abandon ship procedures, crew safety training, supervision of ships tenders– please remind us Craig that “if its not safe, don’t do it that way”.

Avril:

Maitre D' - takes care of seating arrangements, service, and oversees the wait staff for the dining room – anything to do with dining/food see Avril.

Bill:

Photographer - passengers portraits, photo processing.  Bill, we need to see the evidence at the end of the trip!

Deb:

Eco Consultant - responsible for maintaining the best environmental standards aboard the ship – Debbie will be “watching, watching, always watching!”

There has been a lot of time between blogs and a lot of things have happen.  This is an update of the main goings on.

13 June 2010 - Planning Meeting at the Grants

This was our first get together as a group to start the planning of what we would do and get a rough idea of what we were all doing.  It was a great afternoon which will be repeated many times I am sure before we go and on the cruise.

But one of the most important jobs for us to do was come up with the cruise logo.  Much head scratching occurred until we thought of combining our initials.  Many combinations were experimented with but Craig had the brainwave to use LDGM.  This sounded pretty obvious - Ledger Grant Dolan Musson.  But Craig was not thinking this way.  The letters actually meant:

Bill then went away to try to make something of it.  A few alternatives were put to the group with a vote made.  And low and behold, the following was the selected cruise logo.  What a rip snorter.

 15 February 2011 - Planning Meeting at the Mussons
 

We all survived unscathed from the devastating January 2011 South-East Qld floods to get together for some more planning with us now being in the same calendar year as the cruise. Everybody firmed up their itineraries with them being tweaked here and there.  The main aim of the get together this time was to decide on Shore Excursions.  A good time was had again and the excursions were selected.  Andrew also brought samples of the cruise shirts for fitting.  The LGDM logo is to be embroidered on them as a memento of the trip.  Following are some pics from the evening session.
